To celebrate the birth of the nation, a multi-faceted concert introduced a new work by several local artists at the Mesa Arts Center on July 2 and 3. Called "Divinely Appointed," it was created by individuals who, in many ways, feel "divinely appointed" to share their talents in this way.

Produced by the company called Captured Miracles, the show, with its combination of music, narration and photographic images, is scheduled to be presented again as the centerpiece for the Gilbert Constitution Week Celebration in September.

Brian Trotter, writer of the narration, says, "The only way to save this country from its enemies within is to reconnect its people to our heritage, to reconnect our people to our founding fathers and the Document that is our foundation-The Constitution of The United States."

The idea for "Divinely Appointed" came when Captured Miracles founder, Helen Thomas Robson, began thinking about how to convey the story of America using her photographic talents.

She says "I have been creating art as long as I can remember. I know it can be a powerful force for good."

Having already done a series of photographs showing Christ in various situations, she knew something about taking on a project of such enormous magnitude.

As Helen shared her vision, others came on board. Brian Trotter wrote the narration. Original music was written and arranged by Kirsten Millsap, Jason Barney and Dave Herring; and Helen created the stirring, moving photographs the production needed.

Bill Norton was selected to read the narration, and vocalists were chosen, including Kirsten Millsap, Chris Burk, Aaron Ballard, Brig Day and Tiffany and Sydney Roundy.

"There are many organizations around the country teaching the truth and changing the way people feel about our Founding Fathers and our great heritage," Brian says. "We wanted to do the same thing but to come at it from a different angle-through art, music and entertainment. We know that this will grab a large number of our countrymen and help them to become excited about educating themselves in other ways and standing up and making their voice heard to help make a difference. This is why we have created this production."

Helen says Captured Miracles, and all those she chooses to work with, have, as their objective, "to use the talents God gave us, and to give back to Him by touching and changing the hearts of all. Helping God's children of all ages, to know they are loved and important, and that united, focusing on what we have in common, we can create miracles in our nation."
